With reference to my despatch No.604 of
28th November, 1934, reporting the retirement on pension
of Mr. E.D.C. Wolfe, C.M.G., Inspector General of Police,
I have the honour to recommend the appointment of Mr.
Thomas Henry King, Deputy Inspector General of Police to
the vacant post.

Mr. King joined the service of this Govern-
ment as a Police Probationer in November 1904. He was
appointed Deputy Superintendent of Police in 1921 and
Deputy Inspector General of Police in 1930. He has acted
as Inspector General (Captain Superintendent of Police)
on various occasions in 1925, 1929, 1932 and 1934 and has
shown marked ability in his discharge of the duties of
that post. Mr. King is eminently fitted for promotion to
the post of Inspector General of Police and I recommend him
with the fullest confidence. I invite reference to the
Annual Confidential Reports on his service.

Mr. Wolfe was a cadet officer of Class I
Ο and drew salary accordingly. The salary recommended by
the Salaries Commission for the post was £1,350 x £50 -
